Following Manchester United’s Tuesday termination of Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract, renowned journalist Piers Morgan has written to Arsenal.
He urged the Gunners to sign Cristiano Ronaldo.
Many football fans were not surprised when Ronaldo’s contract was terminated after his interview with Morgan last week.
The 37-year-old superstar had slammed United’s hierarchy and Erik ten Hag, making serious claims about how the club is now managed.
Manchester United announced on Tuesday that his contract has been terminated with immediate effect.
The decision means Ronaldo is now free to join a new club after the World Cup after failing to secure a move away from United in the summer.
Chelsea are leading the race to sign the football icon with Sporting CP and a switch to Major League Soccer is also an option.
But Morgan, a die-hard supporter of Ronaldo and Arsenal, wants the Gunners to snap up the Portugal captain on a free transfer
Tweeting after Ronaldo’s United exit was confirmed, Morgan posted a picture of Ronaldo holding up an Arsenal shirt with his name and number on the back, along with the caption: “Time for Phase 2.”
