JUST-IN: FG Unveils Redesigned Naira Notes To General Public (PHOTOS)

The redesigned naira notes have been made public by the federal government.

President Muhammadu Buhari presided over the Federal Executive Council meeting when it was unveiled.

Godwin Emefiele, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), issued a warning to Nigerians stating that the deadline of January 31, 2023 to entirely eliminate the usage of the old notes cannot be extended.

The redesigned notes are in denomination of N1000, N500 and N200.

Earlier, the release of the new naira denominations was originally scheduled for mid-December, but the CBN governor said Buhari had graciously accepted to unveil them today.
