Court Nullifies Abia APGA Gov Primary, Orders Fresh Election

A Federal High Court in Abuja has declared the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship primary election in Abia State null and void.

In a ruling issued on Thursday, Justice Binta Nyako ordered that the party hold a new primary election within 14 days.

Justice Nyako issued the order in response to Chief Chikwe Udensi’s suit challenging the outcome of the APGA gubernatorial primary election, which he claimed was won by Professor Greg Ibe.

According to the evidence and witness testimony, the May 29 APGA gubernatorial primary election in Abia state was flawed and marred by irregularities.

Chief Udensi, lost to Professor Ibe at the APGA primaries, but however headed to court to challenge the outcome of the election.

Udensi had urged the court to declare him winner of the APGA gubernatorial primary election or in the alternative, order for conduct of a fresh election.
