Pastor Adeboye donates borehole, cash to FUTA

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has donated a borehole for the use of the students in the dormitory that bears his name at the Federal University of Technology Akure.

The purpose of the project, according to Pastor Adeboye, who spoke during the project’s official handover in Akure, Ondo State, through the spokesperson for Region 22 and Assistant Continental Overseer of the church, Continental 3, Pastor Elijah Olujimi Ajibade, was to address some water-related issues that the hostel was having.

Pastor Ajibade thanked the Management of FUTA for deeming it fit to honor the G.O. of the R.C.C.G by naming the New Male Undergraduate Hostel after him in November 2021.

He promised that in accordance with the corporate social responsibility ethos of the church, the RCCG would keep making sure that the Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye Male Hostel, FUTA, is supported.

Responding on behalf of his colleagues, the Vice Chairman of Enoch Adejare Adeboye Male hostel, Okikiri Favour, a 400-level student in the Department of Remote Sensing and GIS, expressed his delight at the gesture which he described as timely and Godly.

Okikiri said the borehole will not only provide water but also bring a huge relief to the occupants of the Hostel.

He promised that the borehole would be maintained to serve the purpose of its construction.

He thanked R.C.C.G and the FUTA management for making the project possible.

The Dean of the Student Affairs Division, Professor Olanrewaju Oke commended the leadership of RCCG for fulfilling the pledge earlier made.

He thanked the RCCG and congratulated the Men of Grace as the Students of the hostel are fondly called.

He promised that the borehole will be regularly maintained to serve the purpose it was made for many more years to come.

In her remark, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Adenike Oladiji thanked the RCCG and noted that beyond the borehole, a cash gift was also donated and lots of prayers were said for the institution.

She emphasized that RCCG had become a global brand that should be commended for its mission of spreading the gospel of Godliness and giving back to society through structured CSR initiatives.

She urged and encouraged well-meaning individuals and organizations to follow in the steps of the R.C.C.G. by stretching hands of fellowship towards the institution.
