Three people were shot by gunmen in the communities of Abule-Oko, Agbado, Olaogun, and Ijoko in the Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State.
According to reports, the event happened on Friday at around 8:30 am when the shooters attacked the impacted villages.
The three people who were shot by the thugs “are now receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital,” according to Soji Ganzallo, the Commander of the So-Safe Corps in Ogun State, who confirmed the incident.
Ganzallo said the Super Operation Team of Agbado-Ibaragun Area Command has arrested three; Kehinde Smith (aka 72), Tunde Alabi and the ring leader, 32-year-old Abiodun Odewale, (aka Confidence); while others escaped.
According to Ganzallo, members of the deadly team had been on the wanted list of the agency some years ago for allegedly terrorising and robbing residents of the communities.
The Corps commander in a statement signed by So-Safe spokesman, Moruf Yusuf on Saturday, disclosed that the suspects were nabbed with one local pistol, saying that peace has been restored to the concerned communities.
The statement read, “efforts are ongoing to retrieve the second gun used to perpetrate the heinous crime.”
He said that the three suspects have been transferred to the police at Agbado divisional headquarters for further investigation and prosecution.
