Today (Wednesday), Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, will travel to Bissau, Guinea Bissau.
It has been learned that President Buhari will be awarded Guinea Bissau’s highest honour.
The award recognizes Buhari’s contributions to the West African nation’s political stability.
Garba Shehu, the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, stated this in a statement issued on Tuesday.
Following the invitation of Guinea Bissau President Umaro Sissolo Embalo, the Nigerian leader would dedicate a road in the capital city named after him.
President Buhari’s leadership role on the West Coast will be highlighted at the event, which will be held at the presidential villa.
Some of the responsibilities include regularly counselling and motivating leaders on the virtues of peace, political inclusion, and integrity, as well as fostering a strong economy that drives collective prosperity.
During his visit to Bissau, President Buhari and the Nigerian delegation will hold a bilateral meeting.
The Nigerian president will be accompanied on the trip by Amb. Zubairu Dada, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Maj. Gen. Mohammed B. Monguno (Rtd), and Amb Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, Director General of the National Intelligence Agency.
