Deji Adeyanju mocked Peter Obi’s Labour Party presidential rally in Taraba State on Wednesday.
Obi’s Taraba rally, he said, resembled a secondary school inter-house sports competition.
WITHIN NIGERIA learned that Adeyanju used his verified Facebook page on Thursday to mock Obi’s attempt to woo northern voters.
The activist, who slammed Obi for his Taraba rally, which the Labour Party called a success, claimed Nigerians make too many jokes.
He wrote:
The Obi rally in Taraba yesterday looked like an Inter-House sports competition in a secondary school. We joke too much in this country.
Meanwhile, WITHIN NIGERIA understands that what appears to Adeyanju to be a joke is what Obi supporters, dubbed “Obidients,” and the party described as a successful event.
On Wednesday, the Labour Party expressed gratitude to the people of Taraba State via its verified Twitter account.
The party claimed that its Taraba campaign rally drew a large crowd despite the fact that no one was paid to attend.
The party wrote:
For those in doubt, Obidients are all over Nigeria, including the North. How else can one describe organic support?
This was not organised by political party bigwigs. It was not an enforced assemblage of people paid to attend.
Thank you, Taraba State, for such massive support today.
