Reno Omokri, a former presidential media aide, has slammed Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi, accusing him of playing the religious card in politics.
Omokri said on Friday that, to the best of his knowledge, no one on the planet has politicized church attendance like Peter Obi.
He also accused the former Anambra State Governor of not attending churches prior to 2022, but has now made it a habit to go from one church to the other in preparation for his presidential bid in 2023.
Taking to his micro-blogging site, he wrote:
Nobody on Earth, living or dead, has, to my knowledge, politicised church attendance like Peter Obi. A man who did not even know of the existence of these churches before 2022 has started going from church to church and Experience to Shiloh, turning altars to rallies.
Excited Crowd Welcome Obi
WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) for the 2023 election, attended the Shiloh program of the Living Faith Church on Thursday.
Shiloh is a church event held annually under Bishop David Oyedepo.
Obi was among the dignitaries in attendance at the Thursday episode of the show, where he was introduced alongside other notable figures in Canaan Land, Ota, Ogun State.
However, as the LP candidate was about to be introduced, the audience began ecstatically cheering, and Bishop David Abioye, who was doing the introduction, had to appeal for calm several times in order for the program to continue.
