A Zambian Super League game was interrupted by a swarm of bees at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Players from Forest Rangers and Zesco United were unable to play for more than 30 minutes due to bees swarming everyone on the field of play, including the referee.
Millions of bees were reportedly seen flying around in all directions before landing on the field.
Fortunately, the game continued and no injuries were reported, according to Zambian Football.
George Lwandamina took charge of Zesco United for the first time since his return as the game ended scoreless.
Shauwn Mkhize, the owner of Royal AM, is not pleased. Patrick Nyame, the goalkeeper who was knocked unconscious during the DStv Premiership match against SuperSport United, received an update on his condition from MaMkhize.
Thwihli Thwahla lost the encounter 3-1 at the Lucas ‘Masterpieces’ Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville. She said in an Instagram post:
“The past two days have been very traumatic for the team and I. Our goalkeeper, Patrick Nyame suffered an almost life-threatening head injury in our #DStvPremiership fixture against Supersport on Tuesday.
“I had to stay the whole night at the hospital completely forgotten about the loss all what I wanted was for him to wake up.”
