The Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC) has responded to reports in some quarters that the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, has died.
According to IHRC, some online reports claim that the Shiite leader died on Monday, December 12, 2022.

Please disregard rumours circulating this morning that Sheikh El-Zakzaky has passed away, IHRC noted on its Twitter handle.
According to reports, Shiites and sympathizers marked the 7th anniversary of the Zaria massacre involving the renowned cleric on Monday.
It should be remembered that in December 2015, the Nigerian Army ambushed El-residence, Zakzaky’s killing scores of Shiites and destroying El-place Zakzaky’s of worship.
The incident occurred in the aftermath of an alleged Shiite attack on then-Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, in Zaria, Kaduna state.
