The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has made arrangements to carry out the refund of the Hajj price paid by some intending Pilgrims for the holy journey in 2022.
The exercise will be held on Tuesday, December 20, at the Shamsi Adisa Thomas (SAT) Mosque Hall, Old Secretariat, GRA, Ikeja, according to a statement released by the Board yesterday.
Those who voluntarily filed for a refund of the Hajj fare paid between 2019 and 2022 for the ritual in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are the recipients.
Before receiving the refund, the beneficiaries (both the living and the deceased) are required to meet certain requirements.
The statement reads: “Those in the ‘I’m alive’ category are expected to produce the original and photocopies of receipt of payment, two passport photographs and any one of the followings; utility bills (PHCN, LAWMA, etc.), proof of residency (LASRRA card) or data page of their International passport. In the case of the deceased, the Next of Kins are expected to produce original and photocopies of the followings: death certificate (from Government owned Hospitals, Health Centres, LASUTH, etc.), obituary, payment receipt and the data page of the deceased International Passport.
“Others include two passport photographs of the Next of Kin, utility bill (PHCN, LAWMA, etc.) as well as proof of residency (LASRRA card).”
The statement added that an indemnity form would be filled out by all the beneficiaries at the venue.
