Abubakar Ismail, the manager of an ICT-JAMB center in Kebbi State’s Zuru local government area, was arrested by police after 83 of the center’s HP laptop computers were stolen.
The state’s commissioner of police, Ahmed Magaji Kontagora, introduced the individual to reporters with other criminals who had been detained and explained that the case had been reported to the Zuru police division by the director of the KEBNA ICT-JAMB Center Zuru, Dr. Michael Ezra Dikki.
He added that Dikki had informed the police that when he visited the centre he discovered that the suspect who is the site manager had sold the computers to one Chikwudi Otutu, the owner of Otutu Computer Centre, Sokoto in Sokoto at N40,000 each.
The commissioner further stated that the police had succeeded in recovering 76 of the laptops, adding that the suspect and other arrested criminals would be charged to court for prosecution while investigation continued.
