Jigawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 1,050 men to guard citizen lives and property during the state’s Christmas and New Year celebrations.
This was said by Musa Alhaji Mala, the state commandant of the NSCDC, in a statement given to reporters in Dutse.
The 27 local government units in the state, according to him, had employees deployed, with a focus on critical locations such places of worship and leisure, government buildings, parking lots, marketplaces, shopping centers, and other susceptible sites.
However, the commandant asked locals to exercise caution and security awareness and to report any suspicious activity to the closest security formation.
He advised parents to control and monitor the activities of their wards, especially the use of knockouts, underaged and reckless driving as such acts endanger their lives and that of innocent members of the public.
NSCDC, therefore, urged citizens to always be cautious and report any suspected movement to security agencies.
