President Muhammadu Buhari has implored the national assembly to ratify a supplementary budget of N819 billion.
Buhari’s request was read by Femi Gbajabiamila, speaker of the house of representatives, during plenary session on Wednesday.
He said the 2022 supplementary budget would be used to finance infrastructural projects across the country.
Buhari said the 2022 flood has affected infrastructure across the nation.
President Muhammadu Buhari had, on October 7, presented the 2023 budget proposal of N20.5trn to the National Assembly.
However, the supplementary budget will provide the federal government with the needed funds that are not appropriated for and expenditures that are not captured in the proposed 2023 budget.
