Festus Keyamo, the spokesman for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council, has reacted to the absence of some Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) bigwigs from the party’s campaign rally in Kastina State.
WITHIN NIGERIA previously reported that Atiku stormed the state on Tuesday with his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa, to seek voters’ support.
Rather than seeking public support, leaders of his party, led by former Katsina State Governor Ibrahim Shema, have decided to boycott the presidential campaign.
The rally is expected to be boycotted by 10 of the 14 members of the party’s State Working Committee and 19 of the 34 local government party chairmen in the state.
The development is contrary to the statement made by the Chairman of the Atiku-Lado Campaign Council, Senator Umar Ibrahim Tsauri, who, while briefing newsmen on Sunday, said, “I would like you to believe and agree with me that PDP is one big united family with full cooperation ready to take Nigeria to the promised land.”
Keyamo Reacts
In a post shared on Twitter on Tuesday, Festus described Atiku as the real divider rather than the ‘unifier’ that he claims.
The minister lashed out at Atiku for disrespecting major stakeholders within his party, being unable to make adjustments, and failing to accommodate various interests in the party.
Keyamo added that Atiku claiming a ‘unifier’ sounds like a sick joke to Nigerians.
He tweeted:
Atiku, the REAL DIVIDER touts himself as a ‘unifier’! He disrespects MAJOR stakeholders within his party & can’t do SIMPLE ADJUSTMENT to accommodate various interests wants to UNITE Nigerians! In the face of these disasters, ‘UNIFIER’ now sounds like a VERY SICK JOKE to Nigerians.
