Court Bars Kano Govt From Selling Hospital

A Kano State High Court has restrained the State government from selling a maternity and children clinic in Yan awaki quarters of the state.

About 113 of Yan awaki residents filed a motion ex-parte dated 20th December sworn by their leader, Salisu Ibrahim of Yan awaki K/Wamabai at the court located at No 16 sitting in Miller Road.

The Yan awaki residents through their counsel, Barrister Badamasi Sulaiman Gandu prayed the court to stop Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

Other respondents in the suit are Attorney General of Kano State and Municipal Local Government Area.

Presiding judge, Justice Maryam Ahamd Sabo granted the prayers of Yan awaki residents and restrained the first respondent from selling the hospital and ordered all parties to maintain status quo pending the adjourned date fixed for hearing of the application.

According to Daily Trust, the case has been adjourned to 23rd of December, 2022.
