Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has signed the 2023 appropriation bill into law.
The budget for the 2023 financial year was signed into law by Makinde in Saki town on Friday.
It would be recalled that the signing of the budget into law was a sequel to the passage of the budget by the state House of Assembly.
The state lawmakers Thursday evening in Ibadan, the state capital passed the budget into law.
The lawmakers in the state, had passed a total of three hundred and ten billion, four hundred and thirty-two million five hundred thousand naira (N310,432,500,000.00) as a budget for the year 2023 financial year.
Makinde has, however, signed the bill into law.
Makinde while speaking said the budget would aid the completion of some of the ongoing projects in the state.
He added that his administration has been able to increase the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to over N3.8 billion, describing the appropriation as a budget for sustainable development.
He thanked the state lawmakers for what he described as the speedy passage of the budget. “I have just signed the budget into law right here in Saki. So, history has been made.
“Let me use this opportunity to thank the Speaker and other members of the Assembly for the speedy passage of the budget”.
