Alaibi Nnana Joseph, Special Assistant on Media to Chief Uche Secondus, former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has said the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, is yet to recover since he lost the PDP presidential primaries to Atiku Abubakar.
He said Wike allowed himself to be overwhelmed by self-inflicted delusions that he was poised to win the PDP presidential ticket.
Alaibi disclosed these in a statement on Sunday in Abuja, stressing that Wike has taken an enemy out of everyone who is sane enough not to be a party to his gale of anger and frustration.
Recall that Wike and his camp, known as the Integrity Group, have been at loggerheads with the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku since the PDP presidential primary in May.
The Integrity Group has insisted that Iyorchia Ayu, must step down as the National Chairman of the party, if they are to support Atiku in the 2023 election.
Berating Wike over the current crisis rocking the PDP, Alaibi claimed that the burden of electoral defeat became too heavy for Wike to bear, noting that he has since his “defeat embarked on a solitary psychotic adventure, choosing to entertain himself, nay the small crowd of people that congregate around him for his entertaining value and the little reward that comes with it”.
The statement reads in part, “There is a popular African saying that the display of a lunatic is always a delight to see, but no one desires to have a lunatic as a child.
“It is pitiable seeing the dramatic display of Governor Nyesom Wike since he lost the presidential primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party in May.
“Whereas Governor Wike allowed himself to be overwhelmed by self-inflicted delusions that he was poised to win the presidential ticket of the PDP. But he lost. And since his loss, the Governor has yet to recover from the shock of his defeat.
“Perhaps because the burden of electoral defeat became too heavy for Wike to bear, he has since his defeat embarked on a solitary psychotic adventure, choosing to entertain himself, nay the small crowd of people that congregate around him for his entertaining value and the little reward that comes with it.
“Governor has taken an enemy out of everyone who is sane enough not to be a party to his gale of anger and frustration.
“That he’s picking on Prince Uche Secondus now is nothing new in the long list of people that Wike has ripped apart with his unbridled tongue.
“It is not the intention of this piece to add value to the lunatic discharges that seem to put the revered Prince Secondus of Ngo Kingdom in (a) bad light. Far from it.
“Rather, the purpose of this piece is to admonish Governor Wike to be mindful of the fact that in matter weeks away, Rivers State will have a new governor-elect and the earlier that reality dawns on the Emperor-Governor the better.
“No one leaves the path for an ex-horseman. Wike will be an ex-horseman in matter of months and people whom he had ridden roughshod over will demand certain answers from him.”
“Before then, it is only reasonable to wish Governor Wike quick recovery from his current predicament and to remind him of another African proverb that says that while a man with tattered dress may dance all night in the cover of darkness, soon the day shall break and his shame will come to light,” the statement added.
