Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is set to meet with the five disgruntled governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) known as the G-5.
WITHIN NIGERIA previously reported that the meeting would be a chance for them to reach an agreement ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
According to reports, the meeting between the former Governor of Lagos State and the G-5 will take place in a European country.
An APC Presidential Campaign Council member told Daily Trust that all agreements with the five governors would be honoured.
Speaking ahead of the meeting he said;
Wike’s movement and key members of our team are like-minded and contemporaries. We are going to honour and respect all commitments we have entered into with them.
The presidential campaign council member when reminded that one of the aggrieved governors, Samuel Ortom (Benue State) is supporting Obi, he said;
For Peter Obi, the political arithmetic does not add up. No one bludgeons his way to the Nigerian Presidency through insults, threats and blackmail. It’s by building bridges that leaders emerge in Nigeria.
Ortom in the week had described Obi as the best person who could solve Nigeria’s socioeconomic problems.
