Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State, on Wednesday, signed the 2023 appropriation bill for Katsina State into law.
Speaking at the event, Masari noted that the bill signing which is the last for his administration will only be executed by his administration for the next five months only.
He also noted that his administration was able to meet its basic obligation of paying staff salaries, school feedings, among others despite the state’s dependence on federal allocation said they were able to make some meaningful progress in the areas of infrastructures in the state.
Earlier, before presenting the bill for the governor’s ascent, Tasiu informed members of the public present at the the venue of the event that:
“As a result of the adjustment, the total budget has increased from N288, 633, 257, 963.00 as originally presented to N289,633, 257,693.
“This means that the capital estimate now stands at N183, 924, 845, 400 which still maintains 63.5 per cent of the total budget.
“Similarly, the recurrent estimates now stands at N105,789,412,562 which represents the 36.4 per cent of the total budget,” Tasiu said.
