President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello disobeyed him by naming a project in the state after him.
WITHIN NIGERIA reports that the president made this revelation on Thursday at the commissioning of some legacy projects in Kogi State.
He has always tried to prevent governors and ministers from naming projects after him, but Bello went ahead and named Muhammadu Buhari Square and the Civic Centre after him.
On Thursday, the president dedicated a new Confluence University of Science and Technology at Osara, the Okene Reference Hospital, and township road networks in Idah, Okene, and across the three senatorial districts.
The president also commissioned the Ganaja Flyover, the Model Science Secondary School, and the Muhammadu Buhari Square and Civic Centre in Lokoja.
I thank the Governor and the people of Kogi state for naming it (Muhammadu Buhari Square and Civic Centre) after me. Here, I have to digress; I attempted to stop governors and ministers from naming projects after me, but the Governor disobeyed me here, President Buhari added.
Before the president arrived in the state, news broke that a bomb explosion in Kogi State had killed three people.
The bomb exploded in the Okene area of the state on Thursday morning.
It was learned that the incident occurred at the Oyinoyi’s Palace in the state’s Okenne Local Government Area.
