Hayes Banned For Three Games As NBA Suspends 11 Players From Pistons-Magic Scuffle

Following a huge brawl during a game the day before, the NBA on Thursday suspended nine players for one game, including Detroit Pistons guard Killian Hayes and Orlando Magic center Moritz Wagner.

Eight Magic players will also get one-game penalties in addition to Pistons guard Hamidou Diallo.

The following players have each received a one-game suspension: centers Mo Bamba and Wendell Carter Jr., guards Cole Anthony, R.J. Hampton, Gary Harris, and Kevon Harris, forwards Admiral Schofield, and Franz Wagner.

After a shoving incident that had both benches on edge in the second quarter of the Pistons’ 121-101 victory over the Magic, Wagner, Hayes, and Diallo were all dismissed from the game.

When the incident started, the Pistons were leading by nine points. Magic forward Wagner shoved Hayes off the court as he was chasing a loose ball down the sideline.

As Hayes struck Wagner on the back of the head, sending him flying against the Pistons bench, Diallo sprinted in and shoved Wagner from behind.

When the Detroit Pistons take on the Chicago Bulls at the United Center on Friday, Hayes will start serving a three-game suspension, and Diallo will serve a one-game suspension.

When the Magic meet the Washington Wizards at Amway Center on Friday, Wagner’s two-game suspension will start.

The league mandated staggered serving of the eight Magic players’ one-game bans for leaving the bench area during a fight will make sure Orlando has eight healthy players available for its upcoming two games.
