Imo: Nigerian military in gun battle with IPOB members in Okigwe

There has been heavy gun battle between the Nigeria military and members of Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB and Eastern Security Network, ESN in Okigwe town, Imo state today, December 31, 2022.

According to our source, Izuchukwu Okoroafor, “Nigeria military has burnt down people’s houses and shops around Okigwe junction.”

Explaining further, Okoroafor stated that “Nigerian Military in collaboration with Ebube-Agu Militia group have burnt down not less than 30 houses and shops around Okigwe roundabout in Imo State. The burning started since yesterday being 30th December till today 31st December. The military were heard alleging that they are burning the houses because the locations were used by the unknown gunmen as a safe haven for criminal elements which turned out to be completely false after our Investigation.

“However the report has it that the military killed undisclosed number of innocent residents during the invasion as residents around the axis have deserted the area because of fear of being killed by the Nigerian security operatives .

“As I am talking to you now, properties worth millions have been destroyed by rampaging Nigerian security operatives for no just cause.”

An eye witness told WITHIN NIGERIA “these political thugs sent to Okigwe just stormed my residence inside town, broke in the apartment, damage the glasses, ransacked my parlour and bedrooms , shooting sporadically as if to say they are looking for a bandit. They even made away with my new iPhone.”

Narrating further her ordeal, she stated that “although I was there when they came but the gods of our land didn’t let me down as they couldn’t get me  or even know how I got to escape from the building. But instead they carried an innocent elderly man living with his family for nothing. They took away one Prince Richard Udodimma Nwankwo.

” I want to tell the world that this man they took didn’t do anything. He is innocent.

“Now my question is, was this what they were sent to do? Looking for innocent people to harm? This is very bad.”
