In the face of incessant attacks by the Fulani herdsmen, kidnappers and other criminal elements in his council area, the Executive Chairman of Uzo-Uwani local government area, Hon. Hon. Chukwudi Celestine Nnadozie has beefed up security along Opanda-Adani Road.
He was also said to have given them matching order to end insecurity along the highway.
Hon. Nnadozie, on Saturday visited the scene of recent criminal attack by hoodlums along
Opanda-Adani-road, in the council area.
The council chairman who was accompanied by the Area Commander, a team of police officers, military personnel, neighborhood watch and forest Guards from the zone, arrived the scene of the incident full of expectations that the insecurity in the area will soon become a thing of the past.
Speaking during the on-the-spot visitation, Hon. Nnadozie described a situation where returnees for Christmas celebration are attacked by miscreants as “unacceptable.”
He however, charged security personnel present during his visit “to forthwith end the regime of insecurity along the area.”
His words: “it is unacceptable that Travelers are attacked by hoodlums in this particular spot.
“It is not acceptable.
“The governor has provided every logistics for the security of lives and property of our people.
“So I expect you to forthwith, end this charade;” he stated.
Recall that on Wednesday, three persons including a senior police officer who were returning from Nsukka to Adani were shot along Opanda/Adani road in the evening.
WITHIN NIGERIA gathered that the ugly incident once again ignited fear and anxiety, which hitherto died down in the travelers along the road for quite sometime now.
