Katia Aveiro, Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister, has backed her brother in his decision to bypass European clubs in order to join Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo, who was eager to join a UEFA Champions League club after his contract at Manchester United expired in November, agreed to terms with Al Nassr that will keep him at the club until 2025.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner signed a contract with Al-Nassr on Friday night that will see him earn $175million per year.

Reacting, Aveiro, in a post via her Instagram story, backed Ronaldo to ‘make history once more’ after he joined Al-Nassr.

Sharing a post of her brother holding up Al-Nassr’s yellow and blue shirt, Aveiro wrote: “Pride of my life… to make history once more.”

Ronaldo will hope to lead Al-Nassr to win the Saudi Arabia league this season as they currently sit in the second position with two points behind leaders Al-Shabab after ten games.
