The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and President Muhammadu Buhari have been urged to ensure credible, free, and fair elections in the general elections of 2023, according to Rev. Dr. Yakubu Pam, Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission.
Rev. Pam urged Nigerians to welcome the new year with enthusiasm and said 2023 would be a memorable year for the nation.
The declaration was made in a press release that was given to media in Abuja and was signed by the Deputy Director and Head of Media and Public Relations, Celestine Toruka.
The NCPC leader declared that Nigeria would experience divine grace and uplift in this year.
“In the new year if we look up to God, trust in him, he will surely grant us divine directions to follow as a people and as a nation”, he said.
While urging Nigerians to be hopeful and trust in the Lord for his promises on the nation, which according to him must surely come to pass, Rev Pam tasked Nigerians to rise up and engage in productive activities in order to actualize the full measure of God’s blessings.
The cleric further tasked Nigerians to participate in the electioneering process and ensure they cast their votes in the forthcoming general election.
While calling on the church leaders and Imams to preach peace to their followers, the cleric urged them to encourage their members to participate in the forthcoming general elections.
