Bashir Ahmed, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Assistant on Digital Communication, has responded to former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo’s endorsement of Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi.

WITHIN NIGERIA previously reported that Obasanjo, in a New Year message titled “My Appeal to all Nigerians, particularly young Nigerians,” endorsed Obi as President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor in 2023.

Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obi compared Peter Obi to a needle with thread attached from North and South, and he may not get lost.

Bashir responded by mocking the former president in a post on the microblogging platform Twitter without mentioning his name.

He called Peter Obi’s endorsement “hilarious,” noting that Obasanjo can’t even produce a councillor while endorsing a presidential candidate.

Bashir Ahmad went on to say that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, is who Nigerians will vote for in February.

He tweeted:

Someone that can’t produce a councilor is busy endorsing a presidential candidate. Hilarious! Asiwaju is the candidate Nigerians will be voting for in February.
