Kenneth Okonkwo, a Nollywood actor and spokesman for the Labour Party (LP) presidential campaign council, has claimed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) nearly stole former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s endorsement.

This comes amid outrage among rival political parties and party chieftains over Obasanjo’s endorsement of LP presidential candidate Peter Obi.

WITHIN NIGERIA reports that Kenneth Okonkwo, who spoke on Channels TV on Monday night, analyzed how the APC sought Obasanjo’s endorsement and lied about him.

Both the APC and the PDP, he claims, have nothing to offer Nigerians, which has led to their spokespersons becoming compulsive liars.

Kenneth Okonkwo recalls APC flagbearer Bola Tinubu’s visit to Obasanjo in 2022 when rumours circulated that the former president had endorsed him.

The actor stated that everyone in the APC is a liar, adding that the same people who almost stole Obasanjo’s endorsement are now claiming that they do not require it.

In his words:

The failure of APC and PDP has made their spokesperson compulsive liars and I’m talking statistics to be fact-checked, Dr Mako the director general of the poverty alleviation program under PDP said Anambra State has the lowest poverty rate, and he was fact-checked for you to know, that they don’t have anything to offer.

When it came to the issue of and when it came to issues of endorsement, you saw his white lie, APC craved and nearly stole Obasanjo’s endorsement. They went to him and after talking with him secretly, they came out publicly to tell Nigerians that Obasanjo has endorsed them, it was then in the open and Obasanjo has to quickly retrieve his mandate.

I have said it that everyone in APC is a thief including animals and even endorsement, they want to steal and he is there saying APC does not need Obasanjo’s endorsement. Obasanjo believes in awe lekan, he believes that the youths should rise up and collectively vote for Peter Obi.
