Kashim Shettima, the All Progressives Congress (APC) vice presidential candidate, has revealed that his principal, Bola Tinubu, is healthier than him.
Shettima revealed this during a live Facebook discussion with Nigerian journalist Jaafar Jaafar, as well as Bulama Bukarti, Nasir Zango, and Abba Hikima, according to WITHIN NIGERIA.
This comes amid speculation and concern about the former governor of Lagos state’s health, with many claiming he is unfit to be president.
During the interview, Shettiama, on the other hand, cleared the air about the controversies surrounding Tinubu’s health ahead of the February election.
Bola Tinubu, he claims, is in good health, in contrast to him, who suffers from diabetes and hypertension.
He stated that Tinubu is physically and mentally fit to be Nigeria’s president because leadership skills necessitate mental work rather than physical strength as unskilled labor does.
He said:
Let me tell you clearly that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is hale and hearty. Politics aside, he is physically and mentally fit to be Nigerian president.
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is even healthier than me as I have diabetes and hypertension, which he has none. Even the early Parkinson’s disease people talked about is just lack of sleep. Once he gets enough sleep, he will be asymptomatic.
Leadership is not like unskilled labour of carrying bags of cement. It’s more of mental work than physical. Former Presidents Theodore Roosevelt, Abdelaziz Bouteflika and Daniel arap Moi of America, Algeria and Kenya respectively led their countries through economic prosperity while on wheelchairs.
