Some All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders attended the party’s North West presidential campaign in Kano State on Wednesday.
A massive crowd had gathered at Sani Abacha Stadium, the site of the rally to welcome the ruling party’s leaders to the state.
Many party members and supporters who remained outside and struggled to get inside were periodically advised to go home.
The APC leaders were escorted in a caravan from Kano State Government House to the stadium by officials and players from the region’s 5,000 registered and unregistered football clubs.
The procession, which lasted more than two hours, caused gridlock and halted business operations along the routes leading to the stadium in the ancient Kofar Mata.
Below are some of the APC leaders at the rally;
Bola Tinubu, APC Presidential candidate; Kashim Shettima, his running mate; Abdullahi Adamu, APC National Chairman; and Simon Lalong, Governor of Plateau State, Director-General of the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Council.
Senate President Ahmed Lawan was also present at the rally, as were Governors Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa, Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna, Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi, Aminu Masari of Katsina, Mai Mala Buni of Yobe, and Kano APC governorship candidate, Dr. Nasiru Gawauna.
