Bauchi woman arrested for killing co-wife

A 50-year-old woman, Amina Guguwa, has been arrested by the police for allegedly killing her co-wife in Bauchi.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, who made this known in a statement on Friday, said Guguwa, of Miya Village, Warji Local Government Area of Bauchi State, strangled her co-wife, Amina Koli, 60 years old, following a physical confrontation on January 1, 2023.

Wakil said, “Amina Guguwa, the suspect, criminally used force on the victim by strangling her neck tightly and as a result, she died on the spot.

“On receiving the report, a team of detectives were drafted and rushed to the scene and they evacuated the victim to the General Hospital, Ganjuwa for a post-mortem examination, where she was certified dead by a medical doctor.”

The PPRO added that the investigation into the incident is in progress, after which the suspect would be charged to court for prosecution.
