The Court of Appeal in Abuja on Friday upheld the candidacy of Labour Party’s Chijioke Edeoga for Enugu state gubernatorial election.
The appellate court affirmed Edeoga as the authentic candidate of the Labour Party, LP, for the governorship poll.
Recall that Justice Evelyn Maha of the Federal High Court, Abuja had set aside Edeoga’s nomination consequent to a suit by Everest Nnaji who claimed that he was excluded from the primary election.
However, in its judgement, the Appeal Court overturned the earlier judgment and affirmed Edeoga as the true candidate of the party.
The litigation is one of the court cases that characterised the outcome of Labour Party primary elections across the country last year.
