Famous fashion designer and LGBTQ activist, Edwin Chiloba, has been found dead in a metal box by the roadside in Uasin Gishu County, Kenya.
The Kenyan Police revealed that a vehicle without a plate number on Wednesday was seen dropping the metal box on the road.
The witness, who happened to be driving by the area when the body was dropped, had reported to police officers stationed at a roadblock around the site of the incident.
According to local news media, The Star, on opening the box, police discovered the body of a Chiloba dressed in woman’s clothing.
The deceased was transferred to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue where the body will undergo a post-mortem to establish the cause of death.
While stating that motive for the killing was not yet established, Police Spokesperson, Resila Onyango, said, “Experts are handling the matter.”
Uasin Gishu Head of Directorate of Criminal Investigation, Peter Kimulwo, also affirmed that officers of the agency were already following crucial leads which may hopefully result in arrests.
“We will tie up some information we have and that may lead to arrests,” he said.
