Abia: APP State House of Assembly candidate alleges trading of PVCs for N5000 in the state

Few weeks to the 2023 general elections, the Abia State House of Assembly candidate of Action Peoples Party, APP for Umuahia South constituency, Hon. Chibuike Samuel Nwachukwu has accused opponents of buying permanent voter’s cards in Umuopara Umuahia with the sum of N5,000 each to rig the election.

Explaining further, the APP candidate stated that the alleged perpetrators do not mean well for the state and constituency, he alleging that vulnerable women and widows are the targets of such persons.

In a press statement on Sunday, Hon. Nwachukwu called on the people of the constituency not to sell their rights and future for a peanuts, stressing  that those buying PVCs from communities have no credibility and track record to win elections but rather depend on rigging for victory.

“Please for the sake of your children and the next generation, do not sell or give out your PVCs for mere peanuts such as N5,000 to evil Men who do not have the credibility of winning elections except via rigging and votes buying.

“Some individuals are even planning to go violent on election day, We are appealing that such acts are not needed, no more godfatherism in Umuahia South LGA Of Abia state, and if you know anyone acting this way, do not hesitate to video or record such acts as it is criminal and punishable under the law.

“Let’s vote for credible Leaders for progress, Development, and peaceful coexistence.”
