Touched by the rising cost of the price of petroleum products in the south East zone, Enugu councilor has once again forfeited his monthly salary and offered 2000 litres of premium motor spirit, PMS to all the commercial motorcycle riders in his ward.
Hon. Nnamdi Odo, council representing Obollo-Afor ward in Udenu local government legislative council said the project is to alleviate the suffering of the commercial motorcycle riders in his ward can longer afford the N350/litre pump price of petrol.
Hon. Odo who is the current leader of all the 17 local governments legislative leaders in the state stressed that “hopefully this will mitigate the harsh situation occasioned by high price of fuel.”
In an exclusive interview with our reporter, Hon. Odo stated that “we are in a very difficult time now, a liter of fuel is sold for 350 naira and this is affecting everything especially the people in the grassroots more than you can imagine.
“Most families can no longer feed because the father of the house no longer goes to work as a result of cost of fuel.
“As Councilor of Obollo Afor Ward, Udenu LGA, on the 13th of January 2023, I will be campaigning for Hon. Solomon Onah Izuchukwu for House of Assembly with free 2,000 liters of fuel for Okada and Keke men.
“Hopefully this will mitigate the harsh situation occasioned by the high price of fuel. This is my own little contribution to the campaign and I have no doubt it will impact on the campaign positively.
“2023 elections will be grassroots based and this is an opportunity to interact with the people who own the grassroots.”
WITHIN NIGERIA gathered that the venue of the free 2000 litres fuel distribution is Anthobridge filling station, Obollo-Afor, Udenu local government area. Each Okada rider is entitled to at least ten litres of petrol on presentation of his Permanent voter’s card, PVC.
Advising the citizens of the state on the 2023 general elections, Hon. Odo explained that,”this election is an existential one and we must get it right.
“We must trust power to those who have been tested and trusted. PDP has presented the best candidates out there at least we can judge from the campaign manifesto, Enugu State must come out in their numbers to vote.”
The councilor also advised the youths to eschew violence before, during and after the elections so as to elect credible citizens into power.
