On Sunday, Victor Osimhen of Napoli tied George Weah’s Serie A goal total. Weah was a star for AC Milan at the time.
Osimhen’s goal in Napoli’s 2-0 Serie A victory over Sampdoria on Sunday night allowed him to tie Weah’s record for goals.
After Weah with AC Milan (in 1995/96, 1996/97, and 1997/98), Osimhen is now the second African player to score ten or more goals in three different Serie A seasons thanks to his goal against Sampdoria.
Also, Osimhen, 24, is the first player to reach ten goals in Serie A this season.
The Nigerian international broke the deadlock against Sampdoria in the 19th minute after Mario Rui teed him up.
