Electorates have been urged to vote on election day because, unlike in the past, their votes will now be counted under the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS).
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stated that BVAS would reduce electoral fraud in the upcoming general election, allowing voters’ votes to count.
WITHIN NIGERIA reports that Walid Jibrin, former Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees and Chairman of the PDPNasarawa Campaign, believes that BVAS technology will be the solution to rigging by 2023.
He stated during the party’s campaign in the Akwanga Local Government Area of the state that Nigerians should not be hesitant to vote this time around.
While campaigning for the party, Jibrin urged voters to vote for the PDP’s flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar, as well as Dr David Ombugadu as governor of Nasarawa State and all other PDP candidates.
He claimed that Atiku would save Nigeria from its current plethora of problems.
A vote for Atiku/Okowa will rescue Nigeria from its present challenges and a vote for Ombugadu/Ohinoyi will bring speedy development across the state.
A vote for all of our PDP candidates will enable all of us enjoy the much needed dividends of democracy, he added.
Labaran Maku, the Director-General of the Atiku/Ombugadu Campaign Council in Nasarawa state, also spoke at the campaign event, saying that because Nasarawa North is home to the PDP, electorates in the area should vote for Atiku and other PDP candidates.
Maku promised that if people voted for the PDP, the party would address insecurity and promote peace in the state and the country as a whole.
He also urged those who have yet to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so in order to vote out the APC government at both the national and state levels.
