The Kano State Executive Council has approved the renaming of the state history and culture bureau after its pioneer Executive Director, the late Prof. Sule Bello.
The state Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Muhammad Garba, made the disclosure on Tuesday while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the council meeting held at the Council Chambers, Government House Kano.
The decision, according to him, was informed by the accomplishments of the late Bello, who transformed the bureau to its desired level of relevance.
Also, Garba pointed out that the late don created various relevant departments that formed the basis of the pre-requisite standardization of the bureau, which competitively solidified its position at both state and national levels.
He added that the council had directed the Attorney-General/Commissioner for Justice to facilitate the amendment of the edict establishing the bureau to reflect its renaming.
