The All Progressives Grand Alliance has appointed Governor Chukwuma Soludo as the National Leader of the party.
The position was held by the former Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano until this appointment.
The appointment was made during the National Executive Committee meeting of the party held in Awka, today.
The appointment took effect after the a motion to appoint Governor Soludo as the national leader of the party was moved by the National Organising Secretary of APGA, Mr Ifeanyi Mbaeri, seconded by Salihu Abubakar Sadiq, Bauchi State APGA Chairman and supported through a voice vote of the NEC members.
The appointment was followed with the presentation of certificate of appointment by the National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Oye to the Governor.
Governor Soludo accepted the role, promising greater commitment towards making the party become more relevant in the Nigeria’s political circle.
He promised to work in collaboration with all the members of APGA to take the party to a greater heights.
Governor Soludo said that APGA as a party of progressives will in future offer Nigeria a progressive leadership adding that APGA mainstreams competence, unity, and progress.
He paid tribute to Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and his predecessor, Willie Obiano who had held the position before him.
Earlier, The National Chairman of APGA, Chief Oye commended Governor Soludo’s leadership qualities, noting that APGA as a party will be pleased to tap into his wealth of experience, wisdom, intellectual and moral capacity.
The NEC meeting was well attended by members from across the states and geo-political zones in Nigeria.
