Arsenal have reacted to the usurpation of their deal for Shakhtar Donetsk forward Mykhailo Mudryk by Chelsea.
Arsenal were left fuming after a bizarre twist of event saw the Blues come from nowhere and hijack the deal for their top January target, the Independent report.
The Blues hijacked their deal for Mudryk with an staggering £97m offer to Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Gunners were on the brink of signing the player for £80m and they were certain the deal will materialisation so much so that Mikel Arteta was said to be confident Mudryk would complete his move in time for next weekend’s clash against Manchester United.
But Chelsea swooped in and agreed on a stunning deal to sign the Ukraine international from Shakhtar.
The Blues said on Saturday that they were ‘close’ to completing a transfer worth an initial £62m, with the add-ons totalling £35m.
The player has also flown to London where he is expected to have a medical on Sunday after signing a 7-year deal.
Arsenal is now ‘aggravated’ by their London rivals and the feeling is shared by a number of Premier League clubs, according to The Independent.
They claim the Blues New owners are ‘getting involved in everything’.
