The media directors of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC-PCC) on Monday demanded the immediate arrest and interrogation of opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar for allegedly stealing the nation’s funds between 1999 and 2007 using “Special Purpose Vehicles” (SPVs).
The call was made at a world press conference in Abuja by the campaign council’s joint media directors.
Festus Keyamo (SAN), the Chief Spokesperson and Director of Public Affairs, told reporters that Atiku committed numerous violations of the law and should be invited for possible prosecution.
Keyamo noted that the nation was shocked about a week ago by the grave revelations made by a whistleblower, Mr Micheal Achmugu, who had iron cast evidence against the former Vice President.
The directorates called on the security agents to immediately arrest Atiku.
The campaign council also asked the PDP candidate to tender an unreserved apology to Nigerians and step down from the presidential race immediately.
At the conference were Special Adviser Media Communication and Public Affairs Dele Alake; Director Media Affairs and chief spokesperson of the council Festus Keyamo (SAN); Director Media and Publicity Bayo Onanuga; Director, Special Media Projects and New Media Chief Femi Fani-Kayode; and Director Strategic Communications Alhaji Idris Mohammed.
