A motorcyclist, Yusuf Lammeed, has been arrested while attempting to rob a commuter in the Ikeja Along area of Lagos State.
The Director, Press and Public Affairs of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Enforcement Agency (Task Force), Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, who disclosed this in a statement, said Lammeed was arrested on Friday, while two other accomplices were on the run.
Abdulraheem said, “The lady, who screamed for help when approached by the suspects, alerted officers on a patrol along that axis, which led to a hot pursuit where one of them fell from the bike and was apprehended.
“While confessing to the crime at the task force headquarters at Bolade Oshodi, the suspect revealed that he and his gang members, Tribunal and Abbey of Mushin, had been in the business for over six months. He disclosed that the ban on the operations of Okada in the state made the business a lot more difficult but they still carried out operations at intervals to steal phones and sell to their dealers in Mushin, popularly known as Segun Scatter, Steven Memory, Kalimantan and Ejo.”
He noted that the suspect would be prosecuted.
