Suspected terrorists killed three persons during an attack on Jajar Kanwa village, in the Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State.

According to PUNCH, residents revealed that the hoodlums armed with weapons, including AK-47 rifles, stormed the village on Tuesday around 2 am on motorcycles.

The terrorists were also reported to have injured two other residents, rustled domestic animals, and carted away money, handsets, and food.

The gang reportedly abducted six people, including a pregnant woman.

The terrorists were reported to have directed the villagers to contribute N20,000 each within the next seven days when they said they would return to pick up the money or face consequences.

The state police spokesman, SP Gambo Isah, who confirmed the incident said, “Yes, two people were killed and three were injured. Due to the ongoing operations in Sokoto and Zamfara, a large number of terrorists/bandits are trooping into Katsina through Zamfara.

“It was while they were coming in that they attacked some villagers at Kanwar Jaja, Jibia LGA. But no kidnapping took place.”
