On Wednesday, the first Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting of 2023 was presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
The meeting was held at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
This occurs after Monday’s trip by President Muhammadu Buhari to Nouakchott, Mauritania, to take part in the Third Forum of the African Conference for Peace’s program.
Physically present at the meeting are the Secretary to Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha; Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan; Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Dr Adeola Ipaye and several ministers.
Ministers who attended in persons include that of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouk; Industry, Trade and Investment, Niyi Adebayo; Health, Osagie Ehanire; Mines and Steel Development, Olamilekan Adegbite; Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige.
Others are Ministers of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola; Agriculture, Mohammad Abubakar; Aviation, Hadi Sirika; Interior, Rauf Aregbesola; Niger Delta, Umana Umana; Special Duties, George Akume, Power, Abubakar Aliyu; Police Affairs, Mohammed Dingyadi; Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare; Justice, Abubakar Malami, Transportation, Mu’azu Sambo, Environment, Mohammed Abdullahi, amongst others.
Before the commencement of the Council meeting, members held prayers, led by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare, and his Aviation counterpart, Hadi Sirika.
