Osun State’s Governor Ademola Adeleke has declared that the state’s urgent suspension of forestry consultants and permits will be lifted.
Early in December, the governor ordered the suspension and review of several permits, including the allocation permit for the Tungya farming system, the flinch sawn evacuation permit, the sawmill permit and renewal, the timber and logs permit, the hammering permit or release permit, and the motor-saw permit.
The governor stated that the suspension was a result of an ongoing investigation into the state’s internal revenue service in a statement released by his spokeswoman, Mallam Olawale Rasheed.
Governor Adeleke however warned the forestry operators and permit holders to play according to the rule and ensure transparency in their day to day activities.
“Any forestry operator who violates operational regulations will be summarily removed from the field,” he added.
