Gunmen attacked Oguta Police Division, killing an officer in the Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State.
It was gathered that the gunmen, who attacked the station on Friday night were, however, repelled by some gallant policemen on duty in a gun duel.
According to Daily Trust, after killing the policeman, the gunmen reportedly escaped with gunshot injuries.
It was gathered that on arrival, the attackers threw improvised explosives at the police facility and opened fire on the men on duty.
The state police spokesperson, Henry Okoye, who confirmed the incident, said that the attackers were repelled.
The latest attack is coming less than a week after Agwa Police Station was attacked.
