The international runway of the Murtala Muhammed Airport (18R/36L), Lagos, will be closed for a few hours on Saturday.
The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency Aeronautical Information Services, NOTAM, disclosed this on Friday in a notice to airmen.
The aviation agency said that runway 18R/36L will be closed between the hours of 0000 and 0500.
NOTAM, however, did not give any reason for the closure of the runway.
According to PUNCH, a source who spoke on condition of anonymity said the closure was for maintenance purposes.
WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, was temporarily shut in the early hours of Thursday in May, 2022, after the mangled body of a dead man was found on Runway 18R of the nation’s flagship airport.
