On Monday, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, told Katsina State residents that he understands they have been duped by the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration led by their homeboy, President Muhammadu Buhari.
Obi stated that there is insecurity in Katsina and throughout Nigeria. He boasts that if elected to succeed the incumbent government, he and Yusuf Datti will fight insecurity and poverty and put an end to people’s suffering.
WITHIN NIGERIA, the former Governor of Anambra State and his presidential running mate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, were in Kastina, President Buhari’s home state, yesterday for electioneering campaign activities.
Addressing a crowd of supporters gathered at Kastina State‘s Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, Obi assured residents that if he is elected to succeed Buhari, insecurity would be a thing of the past.
If elected in the upcoming elections, Obi has promised to reopen Nigeria’s borders and combat insecurity.
The presidential candidate emphasized that insecurity and poor governance had resulted in extreme hardship and poverty in the country.
He promised to build a new Nigeria for all and to boost Katsina state’s and the nation’s socioeconomic activities in general.
Obi stated that the Obi-Datti movement has chosen to build a new Nigeria where security is prioritized, adding that once the country is secure, the borders will be open.
Ours is to fight poverty, and we can’t fight poverty without security and opening the borders, we will make sure we bring you out of poverty.
There is insecurity in Katsina and Nigeria, we will fight the insecurity, and poverty and make sure people stop suffering.
I know you always have government, but you will agree with me that you are always being deceived, especially by the people you have been fighting for. Now we are coming, and I’m begging you to go out and vote for us and you see a new Nigeria, Obi noted.
