Orji Uzor Kalu, Chief Whip of the Nigerian Senate, has explained his absence from the All Progressive Congress presidential rally in Umuahia on Tuesday.
WITHIN NIGERIA reports that the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign train arrived in Umuahia, the sitting senator’s home state, on Tuesday.
In a video posted on his Facebook page, the former Abia State governor stated that he stayed away from the rally for the safety of Abians.
He did, however, commend the rally’s organizers for their peaceful conduct, emphasizing his support for APC Presidential Candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Meanwhile, a video of political thugs storming the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential campaign rally at the Umuahia township stadium has gone viral on social media.
Thugs were allegedly seen attacking Senator Orji Uzor Kalu supporters in a video obtained by this platform on Tuesday.
Despite the heavy presence of security personnel, thugs armed with sticks allegedly attacked Orji’s supporters, ordering them to leave the campaign rally venue.
The reason for the attack, however, could not be determined because none of the invaders were willing to say anything.
