Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has promised to address the issue of insecurity in Nigeria head-on if elected in 2023.
If elected President of Nigeria, the former Lagos State Governor has vowed to bring insecurity to a halt.
WITHIN NIGERIA reports that he made the promise during a campaign rally in Gusau, Zamfara State, on Saturday.
While thanking President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Bello Mattawalle for their efforts in combating insecurity in Nigeria and Zamfara, Tinubu stated that he and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, will use their experience to take the fight to the next level.
He claimed that, in addition to dealing with kidnappers and violent criminals as the Governor of Lagos, Shettima also dealt with Boko Haram as the Governor of Borno.
As a result, Tinubu stated that if elected in February 2023, they will combine their experiences to root out insecurity in Nigeria.
He said:
If Allah blesses us to win this election, we will not relent until we beat this problem.
My running mate has battled Boko Haram. As governor of Lagos, I too have fought kidnappers and violent criminals. We will use our experience and our vision to defeat the wrongdoers.
My security plan will empower all branches of security forces.
Tinubu promised to recruit more personnel and improve security agents’ ability to identify, pursue, and stop evildoers, according to a statement from his media office.
He stated that his administration will use cutting-edge air and ground technology to track down and apprehend the criminals.
